Abstract: De-novo assembled genotyping-by-sequencing (GBS) datasets for Crocus series Verni species. GBS was performed for 194 samples including plants from 63 populations: 24 C. heuffelianus/C. cf. heuffelianus, 13 C. vernus/C. cf. vernus, nine C. tommasinianus, three C. bertiscensis, three C. neapolitanus, two C. neglectus, two C. kosaninii, one C. siculus and one C. neglectus, two populations of outgroup C. malyi, and one ornamental cultivar (C. etrucus cv. 'Zwanenburg'). Four different files are provided: Dataset S1: An alignment of 2009 concatenated GBS loci in nexus format (.nex) for all samples; Dataset S2: A variant calling format (.vcf) file excluding the outgroup C. malyi with 30,661 single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP); Dataset S3: An EIGENSTRAT (.geno) file of 2172 unlinked SNPs; Dataset S4: A RADpainter file based on 10,591 loci. Dataset S1 to S3 were generated by IPYRAD v.0.9.58, dataset S4 was generated by STACKS v2.55. Information on plant material is provided in a separat table.
