Abstract: The carnivorous Lentibulariaceae genus Genlisea, displaying a 25-fold range of genome sizes, is a promising subject to study mechanisms and consequences of evolutionary genome size variation. Here, we provide the genomic resource for two Genlisea species G. nigrocaulis (estimated genome size 86 Mbp) and G. hispidula (estimated genome size 1,550 Mbp) including the individual WGS genome assembly and the gene annotation for each species. For G. nigrocaulis the genomic resource contains a WGS assembly and a scaffolded genome reference. For G. hispidula a WGS assembly is provided. For both Genlisea species the gene set contains ‘high confidence’ (HC) and ‘low confidence’ (LC) gene models. For each of these two subsets the following files are provided: genes (FASTA), proteins (FASTA, ‘pep’), exons (FASTA, ‘exon’) and introns (FASTA, ‘intron’), and the GFF file for the annotation. Detailed information is provided in the README file. Data records of Genlisea raw sequence data are stored at the ‘EMBL Nucleotide Sequence Database’ and are available under the project number ‘PRJEB1866’ and ‘PRJEB1867’.
