Abstract: Untargeted profiling of semi-polar metabolites in methanolic extracts of leaves from three different plant species: Hordeum vulgare (barley), Helianthus annuus (sunflower), and the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana. The analyses were performed via RP-UPLC-PDA-ESI-UHR-QTOF-MS (Reversed-Phase Ultra-Performance Liquid Chromatography coupled to PhotoDiode Array detection and to ElectroSpray Ionization Ultra-High Resolution-Quadrupole Time-Of-Flight Mass Spectrometry). The analyzed plant tissues, genotypes, and the corresponding analytical methods are described in the folder "0_MetadataAndMethods". A dataset comprising 100 repeated injections across five batches of a phenylpropanoid standard mix is given in the folder "1_LC-MS1_StandardMix_RepeatedInjections". A total of 200 repeated analyses comprising three different types of barley flag leaf extracts using an MS/MS acquisition mode are given in the Folder "2_LC-MS2_BarleyExtracts_RepeatedInjections". In the folder "3_LC-MS1_BarleyExtracts_RepeatedInjections", a dataset similar to that from Folder two, but using an MS1 acquisition mode, is provided. The folder "4_LC-MS1_BarleyExtracts_PositiveVsNegative" comprises repeated injections of barley flag leaf extracts in both, MS1-positive and -negative ionization modes. The folder "5_LC-MS1_BarleyS42IL_Population" contains the flag leaf phenylpropanoid metabotypes of genotypes from the barley S42-IL population and additional elite cultivars at two developmental stages: BBCH39 and BBCH59. Phenylpropanoid metabotypes of leaves from sunflower accessions available at the IPK-Genebank are given in the folder "6_LC-MS1_SunflowerAccessions". Phenylpropanoid profiles of Arabidopsis leaves after Nitrogen sufficiency and deprivation treatments are provided in the folder "7_LC-MS1_Arabidopsis".
